Membership: Building a Better You
In creating Forteza we’ve kept you in mind. Some of you may be like us, and the programs we offer speak to you with a passion, so you want as many chances to train as you can get. Or, you might have come to our studio looking for a new way to train. Perhaps you want a chance to taste a bit of everything we offer. But no matter what your level of interest, everyone faces the challenge of managing their passion for training with the complex, busy lives they lead.
We keep those competing needs in mind when we build our schedules and our tuition plans, offering you flexibility, diversity and value.
Once you have found the program that best fits your interests, we offer several different ways to organize your training, including a simple, punch-card system, three different training packages, and private or semi-private lessons. Find the one that best suits you!

If you are serious about training in one or more of our martial arts programs, then we strongly recommend one of our membership packages, which allow you a chance to train more and pay less; bringing your cost to as low as $4.00 per class! They also provide discounts in the Forteza store, not otherwise available to members.

About the CSG Association Fee
Forteza teaches historical European swordsmanship as a licensed body of the Chicago Swordplay Guild, a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the preservation of the martial arts of medieval and Renaissance Italy. Guild membership is required for all students to progress beyond the Taster classes, but provides students with a number of benefits, including:
- Access to rank testing within the Guild
- A $10 discount to related workshops and seminars at Forteza, a $25 discount applies only to Forteza members in good standing.
- Discounted admission to the Guild-sponsored Western Martial Arts Workshop, the world’s premier seminar for the study of European swordplay and fighting traditions.
The association fee must be paid on location at Forteza.
